Breast Uplift (Mastopexy)
Raise and reshape the breasts for a more youthful, confident silhouette. Free initial consultations available.
A breast uplift requires careful judgement about how much tissue can be safely removed and repositioned whilst preserving an excellent scar outcome. Mr Sarakbi’s oncoplastic training — which combines cancer surgery with plastic surgical techniques — gives him a unique advantage in achieving natural, long-lasting uplift results with minimal visible scarring.

A breast uplift (mastopexy) raises and reshapes the breasts by removing excess skin and reshaping the underlying breast tissue. The nipple and areola are repositioned to a more youthful height. The result is a firmer, rounder, higher breast with improved symmetry.
Breast ptosis (drooping) is a natural result of pregnancy, breastfeeding, weight changes and ageing. A mastopexy addresses the shape and position of the breast but does not significantly change the volume. If increased volume is also desired, a combined augmentation mastopexy may be recommended.
Mr Sarakbi has performed over 500 breast lifts and will tailor the procedure to your individual anatomy, degree of ptosis and desired outcome.
Techniques
The degree of ptosis determines the technique required:
- Peri-areolar (donut) mastopexy — for mild ptosis; scar confined to around the areola
- Vertical (lollipop) mastopexy — for moderate ptosis; scar around the areola and vertically down to the fold
- Wise pattern (anchor/inverted T) — for significant ptosis; additional scar along the inframammary fold
Mr Sarakbi will advise which technique is most appropriate at your consultation.
Recovery
Most patients return to desk work within 1–2 weeks. Strenuous exercise should be avoided for 6 weeks. A supportive bra is worn initially. Swelling and bruising resolve over 4–6 weeks, and scars continue to mature and fade over 12–18 months.

Not necessarily. A mastopexy alone reshapes and lifts the breast without changing volume significantly. If you also wish to add volume, augmentation mastopexy (combined uplift and implants) may be discussed.
All mastopexy procedures involve some scarring. The extent depends on the technique required. Scars typically run around the areola, and in most cases vertically down to the inframammary fold. They fade substantially over 12–18 months.
Mastopexy can affect the ability to breastfeed, particularly if it involves moving the nipple-areola complex significantly. Mr Sarakbi will discuss this with you if it is a consideration.
